About the site/webmaster:
I'm Jaydee and I make music videos/short movies using The Sims 2 game engine. So far I've made just 3: 'Sk8er Boi'(Avril Lavigne), 'Helena' (My Chemical Romance) and Not Another Nightlife Movie (with several songs playing on the soundtrack). I'm also a beginner game modder and custom content creator, as it helps me in movie making. You can download some of my stuff as well as sims from my movies from my JDstuff page. My site also has a section with movie making help with some tips, tutorials etc.

About The Sims 2:
Although The Sims 2 wasn't designed for moviemaking, it is probably one of the easiest games to make machinima movies with. The Sims 2 is enabled with free-moving camera feature, it also has built-in video capture. There are around 15,000 animations in the base game and expansions and the wide variety of the custom content available in the community makes it possible to create almost any kind of setting for a movie. The biggest problem is probably the lack of advanced camera controls and also manipulation of Sims' emotions, as there are no official tools for creating animations available. So you can't make sims do new things, you can only creatively use actions that are already in the game.

About my movies:
I started making movies in August 2005 after a few months of playing the game. It was a bit difficult for me to even imagine adapting some of my stories to the Sims 2 environment, so when I came across Sk8er Boi song by Avril lavigne I found it to be one of the stories that was actually very easy to tell with the Sims 2, that's why I've decided to make a movie to that song. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing and whether I was doing it right, so I decided to trust my instincts :) I made that video pretty fast. It took me only 7 days. Next I got curious about what others would say, so I uploaded it to Sims99.com - a sims movies review site, where it received unexpectedly for me a huge amount of the positive feedback. Then it just totally left me in shock when I found out that it won the best movie of September award on the site and later even became the most reviewed one.

When Nightlife EP came out, I got inspired by all the new objects and started making my second - Not another Nightlife Movie, which is basically a cute comedy-like story set to several different songs. It was my first movie made with Vegas and while making it I started looking into some basic modding, I also created one of my first custom animations and my first (and the only) cgi animation of breaking glass :)

When I started making Helena, I wasn't confident about the outcome at all. I decided to go with that idea just because I was curious to see what happens and I wanted to try something different, so I started making Gerard Way into a sim... :) several months later after long hours of building, hacking, filming, editing, creating custom content... and inventing the ways of getting sims react the way I wanted, I finally finished it! When I uploaded it online...people's reactions were beyond all my expectations, as I had no idea what to expect, because the movie was so different from my other stuff.. anyways different in a really good way! lol

Right now I'll be taking a break to learn many things I've always wanted to. I'll be looking into 3D, modeling and graphics stuff. I got my wacom tablet around a year ago and still haven't had much time to really learn how to use it.. and like.. just having fun with playing the game ;)

About me:
I'm a huge contradiction to myself, which makes it kinda hard for me to live in harmony with my own self, but at the same time, it enhances my creativity alot, as it brings certain variety into my productions. Although I don't seem to deny anything when I create, in real life I'm pretty much anti-everything, but that doesn't mean I turn away and reject every thing i see and hear.. This just makes me see some of the well-established social values in a different way, as I always ask the question 'why?' before accepting something as an irrefutable truth.. (Ok I know I got carried away with philosophy stuff lol)

I have many hobbies besides movie making. I'm into music, I write songs (over a hundred already) I play piano and guitar, I also like everything connected with graphics. Well these are probably main ones. I'm also interested in photography, writing stories, painting and yes, I do have a problem of finding time for this all :)
