Okay guys, guess it’s time to announce that I’m ‘officially’ in away mode and on a movie making hiatus, since to be honest, I don’t have this much desire left to be dealing with Sims 2 anymore. This includes pretty much everything, movies, hacks or even just playing..

Now as for the sims 3, yes i can’t wait to play it, i really hope  the game play will feel more realistic and more advanced, esp when it comes to sim ppl AI’s.
Now as for the movies, like seriously, i think it won’t be after a year after the release before some decent movies could be made with it. Hope I’m wrong, but this is how it was with sims 2. First people got into playing with it, making custom content, and developing hacks and just after that, movie makers had at least some tools at their disposal…
At this point I can’t even say for sure if i will be making movies with sims 3, as well, I’ve no idea what the moviemaking aspect of the game will look like. But what i really really want is making my own 3d animated movies and not be limited by game platforms anymore. currently i’m learning to use 3d editors, so we’ll see what happens.

So to sum this all up, I’ll be in ‘away’ mode.. so I won’t be spending too much time on the site, meaning i may take a loong time to reply, so if you are looking some ‘help’ you know this is not the right place, kay.

Now another small update, if you go to my about me page, you wont see an empty space anymore. I just had this plan of making an awesome page with lost of scripts going on but guess i was too lazy for that so i just put together a brief intro n stuff…

I also remade the mp4’s of my movies, now the the format is more suitable for iPods, so here’s the mp4 links for all of my movies again:

Well, as you can see I’ve changed alot of things around here. My site uses a new layout! Yep, it’s quite modest but very fast loading and easy to navigate, so as a webmaster I really love it, as now i can change things around so much more easily. Say if i wanted to add one more menu link option on my old layout I’d have to redo the whole site completely, now it’s really not a problem. plus of course my codes are not as messy and it even looks same in firefox:P

+ I’ve reorganized the movies section. so now you will easily find info/custom content lists on each movie

+ The new ‘making of’ pages and about me are not ready yet, but hopefully they will be some time soon

+ New! I now have a mailing list, so feel free to subscribe. I won’t be spamming you too much, just on those days when I have movies or new hacks released. The subscribe form is somewhere on the index page.

+ All pages are .php now. So please update your bookmarks or if you have linked to one of the site pages. I didn’t change the file names except the downloads one

And the other thing that kinda.. surprised me if that’s the right word.. man how many directors from my links have retired and closed down their sites. i think i ended up purging half of my links really sad it’s really sad to see them go, although i can’t say i don’t ‘get it’ completely

Ah yea and the old poll result…

According to the poll, every second simmer is unhappy about how the game will look.  When I saw the Sims 2 trailer for the first time I was just blown away. The jump from sims 1 to sims 2 was enormous.. we all expected the same level of improvement in Sims 3…. but seems like we’re gonna have to wait for the Sims 4…

Once I get around to revamping my site, will work on the forum layout as well. So yeah, all news for today.. more news coming up… soon.

I’m in the Guinness book of records?…

Okay, I didn’t actually set the record, in fact it’s more like a mention.Well you can see for yourself :P

Well in fact they have pretty old numbers as that was back in 2007. As of august 2008 things really changed though..Now the movies with the most views at least the ones I could find are:

And then there’s Skater boy with 7.7 mln

Although, if you think of it the actual view count is rather impossible to measure, I mean, movies are watched not just on youtube right. But come to think of it, the record I could be pretty close to is the most watched Sims 2 movies channel.. One day, who knows, maybe it could be :P So well thought i’d share this with you, been getting around to blog about it for ages lol And thanks again to the anonymous person who signed my guestbook and told me about it ;)

1. Helena flagged on youtube

Yep, after over a year of being on the site it suddenly had to be flagged as ‘inappropriate for minors’. Now the movie lost its honors and everyone is leaving comments asking why it was flagged and so on, man I’ve no idea myself!

So far I’ve heard alot of stuff about the video, but I never heard anyone complaining about the  ‘nudity’ or violence. Supposedly people under 18 can’t watch this, so it has to be.. R rating!? Man don’t be ridiculous! Because if you look at it, here’s all “mature” content which movie contains:
1 or 1.5 seconds of sims drinking
5 seconds of sim being in the shower, yes she is naked, but no ‘private parts’ are exposed
Also some violence like sims hitting each other
1sec or a glimpse of bloodshed but on youtube the quality is so low you can barely see it..

And not to forget, those are not even real people! It’s just pixels, you gotta be really outta your mind to give a movie R rating because of that!

Well, I just thought I’d rant about it…There’s not much can be done over this now I guess, as it wasn’t automatic, it was reviewed by some youtube employee. …………….*cough*Really sick in the head I must add.*cough*

3. Fakers/other people with no lives and sick imagination

Well, I don’t think I officially have a faker yet.. well, none that i know of. ( I do have more important things to do then looking up my own self on google), but once in a while I get messages like ‘hiii what’s up it’s meeee!’ and I’d be like ‘ um.. do I know you?’
Or somebody would just ask me if it’s true that their friend actually knows me.. Like this gb entry i got recently is a really typical example:

“hi my name is tony, my friand shaniah D. says that she is your cousin and she helped you make the sk8er boi video. i dont really belive her though because of your popularity. so send me something back saying if it is true.8-)(i am yomi)”

So here’s the truth people:
I have no siblings and no cousins.. well at least none who I actually met.
I could count on fingers my real life friends who care about my internet life or sims movies. But those who do, wouldn’t see the point in boasting about it. So if your ‘friend’ claims hat they know me.. 99.9% they are lying. But next time you see them, do tell them that Jaydee said hi and also tell them she said they are sad pathetic liars without lives. (eh too bad i’m trying to keep this blog curse-free)

4. The moon

WARNING: Alot of people have reported about these objects not showing up properly. Download at your own risk! 

I also remade the moon, because too many people were asking about it..
And of course I couldn’t hold myself from making some recolors :P so here’s a set of some funky lighting effects for nightclubs concert stages, abstract music video sets and so on.

Well this is the new mesh it’s about 2 storeys high and it uses 1024X1024 texture so the detail comes out pretty good. The downside of it is that it will look good only from 1 side.. if you rotate the cam around it, it will become visible that the model is flat.
The moon itself is the base object which contains the mesh, so you must download it in order for the recolors to work.
And I guess you’ll need to have university, as I cloned it from that weird yellow heart sculpture thing. It’ll be found under decorative sculpture and will cost 6 simoleons (sorry i can never spell that right)
Feel free to recolor, but I’d appreciate it if you pointed people here so that they could download the mesh here.

is no longer an option sorry!

Well the last month was the ‘busiest’ ever on the site. I got around 16000 unique visitors and 23000 visits, so I almost ran outta bandwidth which kinda means soon i might have to switch to paid host, cuz i’m pretty sure i’m not gonna find any better free one than the one i’m using now. so yeah that’s what made me put the ads on the site, yeah i HATE ads myself but I’m not paying for the hosting due to the reasons not really dependant on me… :\  

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share some of the site stats.. like before i released Helena this place basically has been dead, I’ve been getting like 50-60 visitors a day.. but as you can see it has changed :) well i’ve noticed webmasters rarely do it, but what the hell, here’s my site stats from the last year:

Okay now lets go through the most asked questions now.. So this one is the one i get the most often: When the new movie is coming out?

Well, you know what starts to kinda bug me.. it’s that I start getting ANGRY kinds of emails b/c i haven’t made a movie in a long time. okay let me make one thing clear, I don’t OWE anybody no movies, I HIGHLY appreciate all the feedback from you guys but it’s seriously NOT the main reason why i make movies. It’s more about expressing myself, setting goals and achieving them. Sims movie making is terribly time consuming, but yeah if i wanted it BAD i would’ve made one by now.. just right now i’m trying myself at different things. BUT i didn’t say NEVER! i love movie making, because most of the time i can say.. damn i know what i’m doing, which is not the case when it comes to music or photography/art. Yeah I’m burned out on sims. The game did look amazing to me 2 years ago, but now I want something more than it has to offer. And putting all the pressure on me won’t help believe me it will only make me less motivated :)

What else.. probably this ‘you’re brilliant at moviemaking. so can you help me out?’ Weird.. how come i never even thought of emailing any moviemakers when i started out? yeah I do think if you REALLY want to achieve something you’re gonna have to forget about counting on the other people and learn to deal with everything ON YOUR OWN. That’s seriously the BEST piece of advise that I could ever give somebody. But well it’s not really the point. I mean if i really started ‘helping’ everybody out I don’t think i’d have any time at all, I’d just have to turn into some kinda sims moviemaking help hotline..so well if you need help, go to sims Bbs on sims99 or sims2.com. Yeah you can email me with a question but i gotta warn you I’m SLOW with replying. some stuff gets lost too easily because of the amount of spam i’m getting and i can’t do anything about it. I do reply stuff in guestbook first, so your question will be replied faster if you post it in guestbook.

And the question that i get too often and i have NO idea what to reply it is HOW DO YOU DO IT lol i mean I never know what people really mean by it. Do i have to describe the process.. it’s kinda easy.. i mean set the action, set the angle and press v. If you wanna make sth good then you’re gonna need LOTS of patience you’re not gonna make a good sim movie in 1-2 days. If you complain that your movies look like crap then it’s simple.. you didn’t spend enough time working on it/didn’t put much thought and the list goes on. Anyways yeah i’m planning to rewrite the tips, they are gonna be HELPFUL this time lol So yeah I’m gonna do that when i find the time..

Hopefully soon. But start woking on one doesn’t mean I get to finish it soon right? I am sorta making a music video right now.. but it’s not a sim movie :P so I don’t think I’d upload it anywhere

You are taking a break from moviemaking is that what you may call it?

Well, maybe but don’t think that my passion towards movie making has burned out. Yeah I don’t like limitations that sims 2 game imposes and am put off by them in a way, but I definately will be making more. I’m just busy with other things right now..

Why haven’t you done anything so far? Waiting for inspiration?

Nah, I’ve got many ideas but all of them are not that easy to put into practice
