My new movie is out! It’s a music video to From Yesterday by 30 Seconds To Mars. It’s a sci-fi drama set in future about an inventor building a robot using technology of a new generation. But later it turns out that something went wrong and…………well find out about the rest here

Well don’t expect much like I said it’s far from perfect, but.. it’s sure worth watching :)
And by the way the storyline page is up, and it explains everything in detail and completes the storyline as I tried to stay away from the subtitles, so in case if you’re lost, check it out. But watch the movie first!
So well, thanks alot to all the game modders for making our lives easier and all the CC makers for all your hard work, as it wouldn’t look as good without you guys. Thanks Jovial aka OneJovialSim for helping me out with animations and listening to all my stupid ramblings :P And all my fans for your support and patience so well hope you guys like it:)
The FAQ is under construction, but I’ll be updating this FAQ thread with what I’ve got so far. If you have any questions about the movie (and I bet you will :P) please post them on the forum, as I will have a permalink of me replying and it’ll be easier for me to just give a url to sb who asks me the same type of q in the future.
The Custom Content page is also under construction, but so far it has all cc used on the main characters. Will update the cc list with everything else asap..
The Making Of page will be up sometime soon and it’s gonna explain everything in detail… so well wait for that

Brilliant.
Though not containing as much ”Wow factor” as your previous work, this one is a lot more sophisticated.
You have such an amazing way of making these Sims come alive, did you know that?
I’d say it’s a piece of work that shows growth in your overall ability to create these movies. Though, in my opinion, not the best work as far as jaw-dropping goes, it’s your best work as far as story and emotion goes. Which I regard as most important.
I’m glad you got to finishing this.

I loved the story to this one and was amazed myself at some of the things pulled off on here unlike some points to previous poster lol I think this is my favorite truly, and yes I love the song so that has some to do with it but I really loved the story and those sims gorgeous grinz

There are lots of things I’m wandering how you made them(like the contruction of the main robot), but in my opinion it’s more interesting if I just don’t know… to be a surprise. :)

I’m telling ya…this made my day, for sure…my computer for the longest time has been crashing, and today I got it to work again, so there’s that….then I come onto youtube and find that my favorite Sims 2 movie creator has released a new movie….it’s like Christmas! Honestly! LOL you should’ve seen my face throughout the whole movie….my mouth was open and I never blinked…no lie! I’ll never understand how you get your movies to look so different (enchanting’s a good word for it) from anything I attempt to do, and frankly, I’m not gonna keep trying to find out….haha…and excuse me, “far from perfect”? Erm…ok….let’s go with that…. *mutters under breath* seriously, she must know how awesome she is… :D

When you said that you would be making a new movie I got waay too exited and kept on checking your site about everyday.
But to be honest I did not have high expectations as I can uderstand the pressure of you Helena.
But once again i was completely proved wrong!
That was amazing. You made the sims come alive and showed the relationships between the character so well!
I think this would be my favorite out of your sims 2 movies. This story is so emotional aswell xD

Wow. I had been checking the site frequently all through the week and then I saw the new movie…..let me jut say: AMAZING!!! I loved all the animations and the camera angles were just fantastic! Definately my favorite…it must have taken you a LONG time to make.

OH EM GEE JAYDEE. I thought you were never gonna make anther movie again <3 You should have gave us fair warning, though. I chocked on my choclate when I saw the epic movie was yours. I still think Helena is better though. It just had a sadder, more profound storyline. I love this too, though. <3

Oh, just one teensy question….about the song….where did that instrumental bit come from? Did you do that yourself? Or was it by some chance part of a deluxe edition? I’m just wondering, because I have the album, and even though I haven’t listened to it in the longest time, I don’t remember that bit….if you took out the vocals yourself, then goodness….I’ll consider you a goddess! haha jkjk…that’s too extreme….and creepy…

Replying to StephyDee, I believe the instrumental part is part of the song, I think she might have made it longer herself or there is another version that is that longer with more instrumental measures. Just wanted to help you out with the answer.

Okay so after seeing that movie I was so stunned I had to see it again to get the full effect to come out of my shock. First of all I LOVE that song, my first sims 2 vid was a 30 Seconds to Mars song (I wish I could be as amazing at it as you someday, I know that’s a far off dream come true though).
I am just so in awe of the way you capture the sims emotions and how you have them do some of those animations? It totally boggles me. Sometimes I wish I could know but I think its fun to just let you keep the secrets of your special animation powers to yourself.
Its great to see all the amazing surprises in all your videos. I’m not going to compare your videos to each other because I believe they all have there own unique strengths that make them all as Stunning as they are.
You never cease to amaze me, I do hope you decide to continue this. Although I know that if you choose to do something else that will be astoundingly amazing as well. So whatever you do in the end is totally worth the time, as long as you keep making videos. I’d be devastated if you didn’t make anymore more spectacular movies to share.
Sorry if you’ve gotten this questions a million times, but I made sure I checked your FAQ and I haven’t seen it in there so I just was wondering, what is your career? Sorry if thats personal you can ignore it if you don’t wish to answer I was really just curious because at the moment I’m really stuck on what I want to do for my career, so I thought it would be interesting to see what people do that have the same hobbies as me.

yeah the song was actually re-edited. i needed some extra time, so i used parts of the song from the instrumental version of their album.. which were exact same tracks only without vocals in them. so i used the 2nd verse and 2nd part of 2nd chorus and then put the
regular song again

there’s not that much to the ‘animations’ stuff.. btw i posted a picture in the forum faq with all the animations/overlays i made and i used wes’ animation plugins they are so easy to use, actually anyone
could do it. creating animations with retarded milkshape is a different matter though :P
plus i used decorgal’s talk overlay hack ALOT just put my own interactions in there and the rest just were interactions from my boxes mostly
and i dont know, i’m not sure if i make more sims2 movies.. i guess i will play around with sims 3 at least.. but what i really want to do is creating my own movies inside 3d editors/animators. i’m really new to all this, so i’m just learning..
and I’m a retired photo retoucher and sorry i prefer not to disclose what i do right now on the site, but it’s nothing shameful/illegal lol i can still email u about that :P

God woman, that was 2987529578205 types of amazing. I don’t even know where to start at. That opening, even before the music climaxed, was freaking powerful. I don’t know how you do it, but you create these emotions that no one else can’t seem to do, even though we’re all given the same tool (sims2). It’s like you’re not even the director, you are the viewpoint of that character. Especially when she was tied up and had the flashback, were her emotions (being tied up) matching the ones in the flashback? Just wondering.
I love that you don’t let the game restraint you. 9 custom animations, holy crap! I could never do that, nuh uh. Not to mention all the custom objects you made. I loved that sketch on the wall. That roof scene was intense man, espcially the lighting.
Just one q, how’d you get the keys in her hand in the scene towards the end?
Plus the main city set was fantastic.

As I’ve said before to you, I am not that much of a fan of Sci-fi. Well, after watching it a few times and reading your storyline page I can now say I totally understand the entire thing and you may have changed my mind about that genre. The song went really well and it was great overall.
But being specific now…
Though it was great, it doesnt exactly measure up to Helena… but you told us it’d be that way. Alot of the scenes had me saying “woah!”, for example the roof scene and also the one where he comes out of the sewage. I think what had me confused about this at first was the fact that it went from her trying to get away from him to looking out for him. You mentioned a scene that did not make the final cut, possibly if that’d been there I would have gotten the entire picture. That scene where the boy had the robot toy also confused me, all i got out of that was that Ethan and that kid looked a ton alike. Could have been a bit clearer but again you know me.
You said something too about their being a second part… it could be smart to make the 2nd part - seeing as you left Helena unanswered, sort of… but it could be bad to make the 2nd part too because you would want to keep people guessing… How usual of you ;)
Anyhoo, awesome basically sums this up. (sorry this is really long.)

um i’m not sure if i understand the question right… it was just a second she realized Simon was the one working on Ethan and basically the point of the scene was to remind a viewer they used to be in a relationship

oh and the keys were a mod of a holdable katana/sword i got somewhere.. on mts perhaps?. deleted the sword mesh, replaced it with the keys and actually i did it many times already, same thing with the gun and even the yearbook in helena lol

i duno wasn’t it clear that she was afraid of him since she dropped the phone and run upstairs to get away from him.
and nah the scene with a kid actually makes alot of sense(at least to me?:P). i mean he was a bot so you can come to a conclusion that it was a real kid and it couldn’t have been him. the kid looks so much like ethan because in that moment the guy got the idea about making him, so it just stayed at the back of his head. maybe he didn’t even remember that kid when he was designing ethan’s looks, it was just subconscious, but jess got it since it was her first thought after she saw that design on the wall
haha and the second part thing.. first there is not much i could tell in helena sequel apart from i duno say helena making an investigation on gerard and finding out that he’s alive, or the other way around gerard finding helena right after he’s outta hospital and then the boring happily ever after final comes. and here i just have this ‘unfulfillment’ feeling because the movie was supposed to have its focus on sth different and i just strayed away from the main idea..and replaced it with a different one and besides there is this song i really like and i mean the whole storyline just flashed before my eyes as i was listening to it, and imo it would be sth good as it actually made me feel something, while to be
honest most of the time i’m not too connected to my other movies on emotional level.
so well well at least i would love it and i could see at least some people like it alot as well :) and it’s not like i couldn’t end the sequel with sth that would make ppl wonder hehe :P

I had to watch it a few times to try to get past the girl who looks a lot like someone I know…. oh wait, me! xD
I think this was a very important movie to be made. Both for you and for other movie makers. It stretched your ability and showed what you’re capable of… a lot more than you were letting on. It had a bit of a different tone than your other movies. More inspirational value than entertainment value.
I have to say that it felt more… simmish… than what I’d expect from your movies. I think this is soley because you pushed the animations to the extreme with Helena, and there’s only so much Sims 2 can acomplish. Plus the sci-fi choices are quite slim. But they were still natural enough for it not to be a distration.
This had an amazing amount of intensity, but it was much less confusing than Helena. This song pace had a lot more options, which helps.
And I wanted to rape those Sims. xD That’s craft right there. I went back and noticed some really awesome skin choices, some of my favorites. Beautiful eyes as usual. And um *cough* hair. x]
But overall Jaydee, you’ve done it again. Congratulations on making the rest of us look more like idiots than we were already.
I’m disappointed I missed the release party lol. I was out of town, out of phone service, out of my mind. Haha.

Also, I have not much of a request, but a…suggestion, if you will. I know that you don’t take requests (I don’t blame you XD)
So, this is the last year of the Sims 2. I would really like to see a Jaydee video to celebrate all the success of The sims 2. But instead of making it the usual sadness, make it a happy song like you used to. Like, remember when you talked about stacys mom? Mm..I wonder. But I would like to not forget that it was made with the sims 2 this time. Still epic, though. I know that it would be hard, no doubt your hardest video yet, but you should enjoy it instead of working so hard like you did on Helena. You should just have fun and let your inner old self flow through. :]
Also, I thought about it, and I changed my mind. I think From Yesterday is better now. After getting addicted to a video, it’s pretty darn easy to pick XD

hmm well first of all I’ve already said what I thought about this awesome movie on your myspace blog, and I think you owned every single sim movie maker out there with this movie, it was fantastic, and probably the best I’ve seen, most artists and directors aren’t always happy with the final product, its kind of weird, I get the feeling that a lot of my stuff is also unfinished, but I guess thats in our perfectionist nature, anyway!… I loved everything about it, the music, CC, characters, story, and I also found myself wondering how to do some of that stuff, I couldn’t figure out how you pulled off the scene that goes on in the city, it looked very real… movies like these really show off the potential in sims movies, and you continue to inspire people… so much that I decided to actually make another sims music video =D
so congrats for that, I didn’t think that’d be possible anymore hahaha. Good luck with everything, I think this movie should be on TV… or something, its brilliant!

well, perhaps no more sims 2 for me..and stacy’s mom idk have you seen that mtv mod movie? so it’s kinda been done already and besides the real music video is pretty good and the song is tad old and it doesnt seem like it’ll be turning into classic. i still like it, don’t get me wrong but.. i’m still not finished with all the drama…when i will get sick of it, yeah maybe i’ll make some happy/funny movie again

Hi! You probably heard this a million times already and this might have come a bit late but I love all of your SIMS 2 movies and the my most fave one is Helena. I actually was randomly searching the net about last 2007 when I stumbled upon your video in youtube. When I first watched it, I was hooked to a point i probably contributed to about 50 views of that video in 3 hours,(is that even possible?) hahaha coz i wanted to memorize every single detail and story. I featured it in my friendster account coz i thought it was so cool. At that time I related so much to that song and your movie was so touching for me coz it really lived up to the emotion and lyrics of the song and also the music. I remember I didn’t know how to download the video back then so I had to suffer waiting for it to finish buffering in youtube to watch it everytime.>_< it is way better than the actual official music video!!
I downloaded them (all your movies) into my laptop and i haven’t grown tired of watching them over and over again yet and that’s since 2007 mind you!:) I also show it to people every now and then and we all agree it’s brilliant! You are very talented and I do hope you will get the recognition you deserve not just some award or a random mention in Guineas I believe you seriously deserve a Grammy! hahaha. Anyway that was all I wanted to say. I am very much hoping to see more of your work in the future and I do hope you stick with using SIMS because I think it makes you and what you do more interesting. By the way, I think From Yesterday has a very interesting story, I look forward to the sequel. Seriously, people should pay you to make a full out SIMS movie. hahaha wishful thinking from a crazed fan :P

I’m on hiatus, not sure for how long. and about the crazed fa idea, haha i’m so tired of sims it would take like a way beyond reasonable amount to actually make me make another one lol:P

I was literally speechless when I saw this video - you are so amazing and have so much talent!
I wish I was as good as you at this stuff:P I have ts2 and ts3 and I saw your forum about ts3 and I totally agree with you. I wish I could’ve made machinima with ts2 but I was always scared of getting viruses and crap on my computer.. speaking of the downloads and stuff. I’m very paranoid about downloading stuff, you see. I just can’t trust sites like MTS2 and TSR and peggy and XMsims. Have you ever gotten a virus from anything you’ve downloaded?
Oh, and while I’m at it, have you heard about the downloads for ts3? I’ve seen some of the hairs, they’re pretty nice, it’s just, again back to the paranoia.

Awesome Video (i know im late)
I was so shocked, i never knew somebody could make such a great video. I found myself watching it over and over. I even have my friends watching over and over. Thats how much they love the movie! I kinda dont get the storyline. (only the realtionships) but its alright. I love it. And good taste in music. I love that song. But i forgot the lyrics a long time ago. only the chourus. Anyways, great job i know i would never make a movie as great as that. You must have downloaded alot of custom content i see, but your sims, cities, houses, cars and other stuff are beautiful. And i like the way you made them have flashbacks of their past. To end this i just like the movie. You are really inspiring and creative. And sorry if i miss spell things.
