You can read movie faq's if you go to Movies page and look for 'movie FAQ' next to each of the movie icons. What is your next project? I like surprises.. don't you? How long did it take to produce your movies? I made Skater Boy in 7 days, but I worked on it almost non stop. It's hard to say how much it took me to make NANM, but it was 2 months if you count from the day I started it till the day I finished. As for Helena it's also pretty hard to count.. around 2.5 months I guess I love that hair/eyes/skin where did you get it? Well, I can't exclude the possibility, although no such plans for the nearest future. Are you gonna make more MCR movies? I don't have any particular plans at the moment, but who knows, I could change my mind any time... Do you take requests? NO. Please don't ask me about it, don't suggest any storylines. Thanks I appreciate it, but I have my own. QUESTIONS ABOUT MOVIEMAKING: How do you make a movie? In Sims you can capture everything that is going on on the screen by pressing V key, also you can enter free moving camera mode by pressing [TAB] key... the rest is up to you. Also the tutorial that I highly recommend is Movie-making Tips by Britannica Dreams. They have covered pretty much all the aspects of Sims movie making, so be sure to check it out: http://www.britannicadreams.com/MovieTips.html What editor do you use? I used Vegas 6.0 while making Helena and Not Another Nightlife Movie. I used Windows Movie Maker while making Skater Boy (and I really regret it). Some of your camera moves are really good. How do you do it? I changed the camera settings in FirstPersonCameras.txt file. (located in My Documents/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/Cameras). What software do you use and where can I download trials? Editing: Vegas 8.0 Pro Picture editing: Photoshop CS2 Animation/mesh editing: Milkshape 3d, 3DS Max Studio How do you make your videos look so crisp? Mine are all blurry!! You need to go to your camera options then, set your video capture size to Large and Video Capture Quality to High. QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SITE: I have trouble with downloading your movies.. To save a video file on your hard drive you need to rightclick the link, and choose save as. Then pick location where you want to save it and wait till the download is finished. Where can I download your sims ? Check out the downloads section. I've uploaded main characters from my movies there. What about sets? No, I'm not uploading/sharing the sets, sorry. First, there's lots of CC in my game I've NO idea where I got it, so I wouldn't be able to credit all the creators. Second, my sets look like crap on the outside and they are not playable, because they're..well movie sets. And third, I wouldn't want them to be used anywhere else. Telling everyone that this is meant for personal use only doesn't do much as my experience tells me. How do I get downloads into my game? You need to unzip/unrar files into My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder. Don't open the .package file, just leave it there and it'll be good enough. No. If you want to make a mention of my movie on your site, just feel free to put the movie promo image and a link to my site. What is your redistribution policy? Well the rule is simple.. you can't take credit for my work. This applies to everything. You can view the full site policy here. And here's the short one: As for the custom content that is or will be posted on the site, feel free to share it, just don't upload to pay sites. Credit is nice, but not necessary. Can I use your sims in my movie/photostory? No, sorry, you can't. I've uploaded my sims to this site so that you could have fun with them in your games and I think it will be more original of you if you created actors for your movie yourself. The only exception might be the case if you wanted to use them to make a reference to my movie (e.g. if you are making a parody) Can I make a photostory based on one of your movies? No, please don't create any derivative works from my movies or use my ideas. Just be creative and come up with your own concepts! Can you link to me if I put a link to your site on my page? Yeah, but your site has to be well made. I'm not very strict about it, it has to be dedicated to sims movies or stories without too many annoying ads. If I linked to you and then you have moved and your former site location doesn't point to your current direction, your site will be removed. Also, give me up to 30 days to add your link. The email for link exchange requests is linkexchange (+) jd-movies.com What tools did you use to create your site? I used Photoshop CS to create the site layout and Dreamweaver 8 for HTML coding. My Blog is powered by wordpress script and guestbook by Viper guestbook script Can you check out my movies and tell me what you think? I used to do it, but now I just get too many requests of that kind. So please don't take it personally, just reviewing movies takes alot of time, at least for me. So the answer is no. When are you gonna answer my question? No idea? First you need to know that I'm most disorganized person ever and I procrastinate things sometimes till the point I forget about them :P Well, as for the gb entries, I answer them all, but give me up to a month. It's easier for me to answer all entries at once than coming back and do it everyday.. Believe me, I always have this intention to do it on a more regular basis at least once a week, but I always fail :P So if you want to ask me a very urgent 'help me' question.. I'm a really wrong person for that :) As for the emails, I reply to those which are important and which didn't get lost among my other mail... I rarely answer 'help me' or check out my movie type of requests. If the question is answered in faq's, sorry, I'll just ignore it. Youtube messages.. Welll...if you got a reply from me, you've just witnessed a miracle lol I get too many so I just let it go. Blog entries - well I'm more likely to reply more recent entries.. Forum - will reply everything (except allmenus thing), but also in a time... :) Yeah, yeah.. I know what you are thinking.. just deal with it!! Do you have any tips for me? I used to have a tips page here, but I wrote it ages ago and to cut the long story short, they suck. I always have this intention to write some tips on using camera or more practical movie tips, but I can never finish those.. One day I will though :) Why my guestbook entry hasn't showed up? Don't worry, I just have those set to moderation mode. This way it's easier to keep track of those entries which I answered and still haven't. Once I get to it, I'll reply and approve it. |
