Where do the words in the yearbook come from?
They're from other My Chemical Romance song called 'Hang Them High' from '3
Cheers For Sweet Revenge' album.
And the words on the mirror come from 'It's Not A Fashion
Statement, It's a F*cking Deathwish'. You can hear a part of this song during the credits.
Your movie was great but... I didn't understand the storyline...
There are clues in the movie which should help you understand everything, I think. It just may take a couple of times to watch it.
But if you got lost, check out this storyline explanations page.
I can't figure out the sequence of events...
The beginning scene of the movie has to be the first, as Helena and Jack(her husband) meet for the first time, then goes the 'sunset scene',
as you see the engagement ring on Helena's hand, so obviously, it happened before the wedding. Then the fight in the park scene,
as it's the logical continuation of the preceding scene, and later during the wedding there are flash-forwards to the future
(it couldn't have happened in the past, as you see a picture on the wall which was taken during the wedding ceremony).
After that goes the scene in the shower, as Helena is crying after what had happened in the living room and then the bedroom scene. The scene
in the hospital had to be happening at the same time as the scene in the bedroom, because otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

The taxi scene is really easy to put in place, as subtitles tell you when exactly
it happened.
So does he die at the end, or was he in a coma or...
Both.
Ok, I think you should start from the end to figure it out.
Helena finds a yearbook in which she sees words "Don't stop if I fall and don't look back.
Baby bury me.. and fade to black." Which pretty much implied he was asking her to forget about him.
So if he was asking her to bury him, he knew he has to die/has to go right?(not back in college days though, he could've changed what it said later as a ghost)
So that's how you know that he is saying goodbye to her in the bedroom and she asks him to stay.
At the same time, the song also gives you a perfect hint, as it goes: 'Can we pretend to leave and then we'll meet
again'. (Of course the "when both our cars collide" part doesn't really fit as
I made them kiss, but the thing is that he was whispering into her ear during the 'leave' part).
You also know the reason why he 'stayed', as he wanted to get revenge on Helena's husband, which you see at the very end of the movie.
As he was in a coma and he was supposed to die, [because he got his revenge, he could leave now] and you see him waking up,
then there must have been some change to the 'plan'... so it had to be Helena's kiss, as you see lots of light that
symbolized resurrecting him and bringing life back to him. So he gains his consciousness.
His mind couldn't be at two places at the same time, so you see his spirit disappear but Helena is thinking that he is
dying/fading away, because he told her he was going to leave. That's why she breaks into tears, as she realizes that he's dead.
So how does the movie end? Was it a sad or a happy ending?
I think it's easy to figure out that Gerard will find Helena at the very end or the other way around.
Does Helena's husband get killed at the end?
Maybe yes, maybe not. Maybe Gerard will do something more creative with him, I don't really know it's up to your interpretation.
What was the relationship between Gerard and Helena in the beginning?
Did they go out?
You can tell they were in a friendly relationship and it doesn't really matter if they were going out or not.
What really does matter is the rose he left for her in the beginning, (because that implied that he cared about her in some romantic way)
and that later while they were standing near the entrance door, he rejected Helena's proposal to come upstairs with her, as she had been already engaged to Jack.
But you know that he actually loved her if later in the movie he went to see her for the last time and say goodbye to her.
You know that Helena had some feelings for him from the way she was watching him walk away, as normally you don't do it if you don't really care about the person.
If she really liked Gerard, why did she get married to the other guy then?
She thought Gerard didn't want to be with her anymore if he refused to go with her, Jack just had all the things she always wanted.
But how do you know she invited him to her apartment?
It could be some other kind of suggestion, just as the song goes, "What's the worst that I could say? Things are
better if I stay. So long and goodnight" it was the worst he could do because he gets
killed later that night, if he had stayed with her, things could've turned out differently, as Jack wouldn't have seen them hug each other goodbye.
Ok, maybe a stupid question, but what that woman in red has to do with the story?
The first scene is supposed to be Gerard's dream or just his memory, so not everything has to make sense in a way. But the girl is there for a reason.
She was supposed to be Helena's opposite in some way. She is a 'rich woman' stereotype and Helena was just a poor student who probably dreamed about fancy life.
So I wanted you to notice the fact that she wasn't very well off and then to come to a conclusion that this could be one of the reasons why she married Jack.

Did you create any custom animations in the movie?
Yeah, but I made just 2:
1 Helena falling asleep and waking up in the shower
2 Helena holding flowers, which was supposed to be on the movie poster, but it also appears very briefly in the movie.
How did you manage to get sooo good with interactions?
I modified the Sims 2 Machinima Tool object from MTS2, I added some interactions that I needed for my movie, and I was using it
the way you would normally use Paul's reaction tester.
How did you make her pick up the rose in the beginning?
I just snapped it into her hand usin moveobjects on and made her pick up some object, but I had to rotate the rose mesh to make it look ok.
How did you make the guy knock Helena down?
It was 'rejection' type of 'pillow fight' interaction. I just deleted the
pillow and made the guy angry with facial anim changer object just before he would hit her.
The part when Helena falls on the floor was a Nightlife 'bowling slip'
What interactions did you use when Helena was in the shower?
Helena standing and holding herself is something that shy sims are supposed to do. It's included in my Nightlife box
And when she fell asleep and woke up was my custom animation.
What interactions did you use in the bedroom?
Gerard standing in front of the mirror, then later whispering to Helena's ear and Helena replying him back were
the parts of 1 interaction from Open For Business. It's something a manager says to a worker when they are laying them off.
(This is what it's called in the game: a2a-soc-layoff-angry-employer_anim)
How did you do that kiss effect?
It was a cinematics first kiss effect. There was an invisible Sim standing behind them, so I played the 1st kiss interaction
on him and made them kiss
How did you make Helena cry on her knees?
I used an 'Overlay' option in Paul's reaction tester with 'prefer overlay' flag on. First I told her to cry, then to
plead on her knees.

What hacks did you use while making the movie?
Check out the page with custom content from the movie. A the very bottom there's also a list of hacks that I used.
What capture settings did you use?
I captured it in standard 640x480 resolution, and some parts of the movie were captured with anti alias option on and increased fps rate.
I also had all the quality settings (shadows, detail etc) set to high.
How did you make camera rotations?
I changed the camera parameters in livecamera and firstpersoncameras .txt files.
How did you get such smooth slow movement (esp the bedroom scene)?
I had to increase the fps rate, otherwise everything would look way too choppy if I had to set the motion speed to say 10-20%.
How do you change the additional parameters like fps, resolution etc?
You can change these settings in VideoCapture.ini file in '...My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config' folder
