Not Another Nightlife Movie wasn't planned before I got Nightlife EP. After playing around with some of the new objects, it all just merged into one storylline... I thought I'd make the movie real quick 1-2 weeks at most and then move on to my other project, but somehow it just turned out a bit longer than I had expected, so it took me a month or two to make it.[although I wasn't able to work on it *all the time*.

The romantic comedy isn't really my favorite type of genre. Why did I make such a movie then? Because it was my second one and I still didn't know what I was doing. And Sims 2 game has this 'happy' atmosphere about it, so it was kinda hard to break away from it at first.. Still the movie puts a smile on your face when you watch it. It's meant to be entertaining, nothing more, nothing less.

Trivia/Director's notes:

The title of the movie: the time when I released it, everyone was making movies showing off the new game features and objects. My movie in a way does the same basically, hence the title.
The bag: Some people without Nightlife may not get this joke. So here's how it works: whenever a Sim has a horrible date with another sim, some time later, your date will come over to your lot with a brown bag, light it up and run away. After you put the fire out, you can read the poem they wrote for you. So the whole thing was supposed to let you know that Jenny had an awful date with the biker next door.
There is a picture taken by me somewhere in the movie(not the calendar/poster)
'Determine the fate of your love life' was Nightlife catchphrase/slogan on the Sims 2 website
Deleted/remade scene: Originally the city scene was supposed to have this spooky feeling about it, but as it didn't fit i've decided to let it go. But you still can watch it here.
Glass can't break in Sims game, so the animation of the glass was made in 3ds max. I put the screenshot from the sims in the background and then rendered the animation.
Sim sitting in a tree pose was custom made in Milkshape 3D. Then I used moveobjects on to put the sim high enough.
The newspaper planes were 'real', meaning I had to wait each day for the postman to bring another newspaper. I didn't know much about extracting objects back then
