Skater Boy was my first ever movie. I didn't have any serious moviemaking/editing or directing experience before making it. I used to play Sims alot and after seeing a few sim movies, of course I wanted to try making one of my own. When I finally got to upgrade my computer, nothing was holding me back anymore...

Why the song?

I chose Sk8er Boi song because of the lyrics narrating the storyline of course. This way, I didn't have to worry about the timing too much, as the lyrics had already defined everything for me. And the other reason was that I was kinda disappointed with the official video. Before it came out, I expected it to be based on the story.. and it wan't, so I've decided to make my own.

Back in August 2005, when only University EP was released, we were very limited by the interactions we could use, as there were basically no hacks for moviemaking available back then and all we had was Paul's reaction tester...

I made the movie in around 7 days. My bodyshop wasn't working and I doubt I even knew what SimPE was, so I could spend all my time filming non-stop and I had lots of fun while making the movie (and no I don't say that just to sound positive, I actually did, as sometimes moviemaking is not fun at all lol)

Trivia/Director's Notes:

	The first shots of the movie were just me playing around with new camera settings. I didn't have a real intention of including them into the movie.
	I did try to stay away from plumbobs and thoughtbubbles and such, but couldn't always do it. There was no cheat for that, remember. So I kept them, as back then it seemed to me as a natural part of the game and they didn't bother me too much.
	I made the girl wear the same color when she was adult and teenager on intention to show that she hasn't changed that much.
	The 'turn back time' element of the storyline was inspired by the song lyrics. "He was a Skater boy she said see ya later boy, he wasn't good enough for her" / "i'm with the skater boy I said see ya later boy" This is what gave me the idea about making this all about just one girl.
	I also own a black fender strat lol
	Why the title has different spelling? First, I just wanted it to be different and second, I can't say I'm a major spelling freak, so I could live with sk8er, as it does make sense, but spelling boy as boi, imho, that's what a 5 yearold would do, haha sorry Avril :P

There are alot of things about this movie I would've done very differently now, but guess I wouldn't change anything about the storyline, except making it more extended. Will there be a remake?
Sometimes, to be honest I really want to do it, ya know, to show people that I can do better than that now and because the storyline has so much potential, it could be turned into a full length movie but.. I have this 'rule' not to make sequels and one of my motos is 'what's done is done' there are always some new things to be focused on...

On September 2 I thought hey what the hell and submitted the movie to Sims99 to see what happens. And you know the rest of the story...
